Hop, skip and jump into an art adventure for everyone to enjoy!
Wednesday 15th July – Monday 14th September 2026
Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne is a glorious celebration of everything we love about our region. Its beautiful parks, bustling streets and public spaces will come alive with colour and conversations, as our collection of individually designed and painted Peter Rabbit sculptures bring joy (and a little bit of mischief) to the summer of 2026.
A dedicated trail map and App will help you navigate your way to discovering each sculpture, where you can unlock a series of rewards and fun facts.
Local schools and community groups will also have an exciting opportunity to decorate their own little Peter Rabbit sculpture, which will form its own mini trail and take over venues across Newcastle. This learning programme will help to engage and inspire people to unleash their ideas and creativity.
Following the public trail, the large Peter Rabbits will be auctioned off to raise vital funds and awareness of St Oswald’s Hospice, allowing the charity to continue their vital work with North East families with life-limiting conditions.
Would your school or community group love to decorate your own little @officialpeterrabbit? 🐰
Hop right in and join our Learning & Community Programme, where schools and community groups from across the region will be key part in the Peter Rabbit: Tales on the Tyne art trail in 2026.
You will decorate your very own little Peter Rabbit sculpture and raise funds for @stoswaldsuk by taking part in an art adventure featuring this much-loved and instantly recognisable character. Along with the rest of the Peter Rabbit sculptures, yours will be displayed throughout summer 2026 at venues across Newcastle and North Tyneside for everyone to admire and enjoy. After the trail, your little Peter Rabbit will hop home to you to keep fur-ever. 💙

It’s almost @great_run weekend and our Big and Little @officialpeterrabbit’s are ear-resistibly excited to cheer on the runners. Although they are built more to spectate than run, they have popped on their headbands and @stoswaldsuk vests as the excitement builds for the big day. 🐰🏃
We would like to wish good luck to everyone taking part in the Mini & Junior race on Saturday and the half marathon on Sunday, especially the 400 adults and children who will be running in support of St Oswald’s Hospice. If you spot one of the hospice runners, please give them a cheer! 🎉
And if you are down on the Quayside in Newcastle for the Mini & Junior Great North Run on Saturday, you can meet little @officialpeterrabbit and pose for a selfie with him! 🤳
You’ll find him with the St Oswald’s Hospice team just outside The Quayside Garden, near to the finish line.

Sonia, Danielle and Bethany from @stoswaldsuk Fundraising team travelled to Birmingham last week, to visit the latest @wildinart trail, @bulls_inthecity 🐂
The team went on a walking tour of the city, spotting the beautiful bull sculptures along the way. Later they met up with trail creative producers Wild in Art and the other charities taking part in trails this year and next, for a session filled with inspiration and shared ideas.
It’s made us even more excited to bring @officialpeterrabbit to Newcastle and North Tyneside in summer 2026 – we hope you are looking forward to it too! 🐰

You’d be forgiven for thinking @officialpeterrabbit is off to a @nufc match, with his toon shirt and views of the famous pitch behind him, or even getting prepared for the upcoming @sam_fender concert at @stjamesparkne1. But he’s actually just having a bit of fun before his appearance as a star guest at @stoswaldsuk’s Networking Breakfast event at the stadium.
Here, Peter will meet some trail sponsors and people from business across the region and they will get to hear about how they can be part of Peter Rabbit: Tales on the Tyne, which will hop into the region in summer 2026.

Peter Rabbit has really been making himself at home with his new friends at @stoswaldsuk! 🐰💙
Today’s adventures included greeting visitors on the Adult Inpatient Unit reception desk, visiting the staff dining room to grab a tasty salad from chef Ryan and enjoying a spin on the roundabout in the Children & Young Adult’s Unit garden with Hayden. 🥰
Peter then hopped back to the ward for a quick catch up with the nurses, enjoyed a stroll in the gardens and was bang on time for his appointment at the Lymphoedema clinic reception. The nurses popped him on the scales to check if he had been sticking his healthy diet of radishes – we won’t embarrass him by announcing the verdict! 👀
@officialpeterrabbit and his friends will take over Newcastle and North Tyneside next summer for an exciting art trail – keep an eye on social media or visit our website via the link in our bio to keep up to date with the adventures! 🙌

The star of our 2026 trail enjoyed a day out in Newcastle and North Tyneside yesterday as we showed @officialpeterrabbit around some of the places he and his friends will be living next summer. 🐰
He started at the Civic Centre, home to our Trail Headline Partner, @newcastlecouncil. He then popped to Northumberland Street to pick up some fresh veg from the market stall, before hopping down to the Quayside to see the famous Tyne Bridge. Here, he called in on the team from NorthStandard, our Community Programme Partner and stopped for a quick selfie. 🥕📸
A quick errand next, to our @stoswaldsretail Ouseburn Donation Point where Peter Rabbit dropped of some clothes his sisters Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail had outgrown. Next stop was @newcastlecathedral before picking up a train ticket from Central Station. 🚆
Peter Rabbit’s adventure ended in Whitley Bay, where he admired @myspanishcity and felt the sand between his toes for the first time – and enjoyed some hugs from his adoring fans! 🏖️🥰
