In Summer 2026, Newcastle and North Tyneside will host a large-scale art trail of sculptures based on the much-loved character created by Beatrix Potter. Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne offers you an unique opportunity to have your art showcased to a wide audience as part of this mass participation event.
St Oswald’s Hospice is working in partnership with Wild in Art and The World of Peter Rabbit to bring colour, conversation and creativity to the region’s streets, parks and public buildings and we are now seeking artists, designers and illustrators to create engaging designs that will transform our ‘fluffle’ of Peter Rabbits from blank canvasses to pieces of art that will inspire and delight.
Thank you to all our talented trail artists who helped bring our 43 super-sized sculptures, inspired by Beatrix Potter’s famous creation, Peter Rabbit™.
We had hundreds of brilliant design submissions shared with us, making choosing the final selection very difficult. We think the finished results are spectacular and are n awe od the skill and creativity of those who spent spring bringing our fluffle to life.
Many of the artists livre and work in the north east and it just shows how much talent we have in our region.
Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne Grand Finale Auction
The finale event of Tales on the Tyne will see the sculptures under the spotlight one last time, finding their forever homes at auction.
Almost all of the large sculptures will go under the hammer in a bidding spectacular, with funds raised supporting the work of St Oswald’s Hospice. There will also be a live online auction running in sync with the ‘in the room’ bids, which is guaranteed to build the excitement and healthy competition to snap up one of these unique pieces of art.
Don’t miss out on Peter Rabbit’s latest adventures.

A week has passed since our @officialpeterrabbit sculptures found their forever homes at auction, and from what we`ve been hearing, many of them are already settling in beautifully! 🐰🏡
One of those making itself at home is Great North Bun, painted by @ne_toon, who travelled all the way to Cambridgeshire to live with Tony and Susila. He`s also been introduced to another former trail sculpture, The Rossi Hare, which the couple purchased during the Hares About Town trail in Southend in 2021.
The proud new owners said:
“When we heard about the trail, we decided to come to Newcastle and spend the weekend searching for all the Peter Rabbit sculptures and ticking them off in the sticker book. We loved them all, but Great North Bun really stood out because of the incredible level of detail and the individuality of all the hand-painted rabbits.
We registered for the auction in the hope of bidding for Great North Bun, knowing that the money raised would support the hospice. Thankfully, we were successful!
Great North Bun and The Rossi Hare now live in our kitchen, as it`s the only room with enough space for them both. Our friends and family absolutely love the sculptures and are amazed by the fine detail that artist Cris has created.”
The pair now take pride of place in the family kitchen, but they`re certainly not the only rabbits in the household, as Tony and Susila explain….
“We do have a soft spot for rabbits. We have four bonded pairs that we adopted from a local rescue. Two roam freely around the house, while the other two live in a large enclosure with an attached shed.”
We hope the latest addition to this rabbit-loving family`s fluffle settles in well and enjoys many happy years in its new home. 💙

Now that the excitement of the auction has settled a little and our rabbits` important job is done, it`s time for them to hop off to their forever homes. 🐰🥹💙
Our friends at Quicksilver Moving & Storage are looking after the fluffle at their depot until each rabbit is safely delivered to meet its new family.
While we`ll miss our beautiful bunnies, we`re thrilled that they are beginning the next chapter of their journey and wish them every happiness in their new homes. 🏠
