Hip, hip, hooray, Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne is here! We’re hopping with excitement that you’re joining the adventure.
The streets, parks and public spaces of Newcastle and North Tyneside have been transformed into an outdoor gallery from, now until Monday 14th September. Keep your eyes peeled as you explore – you never know where a Peter Rabbit might be hiding!
Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne is brought to you by St Oswald’s Hospice and is raising vital funds to support local children and adults. Working in partnership with Wild in Art, The World of Peter Rabbit™ and Headline Partners Newcastle City Council, this free, family-friendly art adventure is ready for you to discover.
Newcastle and North Tyneside have been sprinkled with creativity thanks to the arrival of 96 super-sized Peter Rabbit sculptures, each one inspired by the much-loved character created by Beatrix Potter. Following the success of previous trails including Great North Snowdogs, Elmer’s Great North Parade and Shaun on the Tyne, this year’s trail is extra special as it celebrates 40 years of St Oswald’s Hospice and 160 years since the birth of Beatrix Potter.
Each large sculpture has been uniquely designed by talented artists from the region and beyond. You’ll also discover adorable ‘Little Peter Rabbit™’ sculptures, lovingly created by local schools and community groups – can you find them all?
Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne is the perfect summer holiday activity, free for all and packed full of outdoor adventure. And by getting involved, you’ll be showing your support to the patients and families who rely on the care of St Oswald’s Hospice.

If you are in Newcastle today and Wednesday, come along to @eldonsqncl, where our team will be having fun with @officialpeterrabbit in the Community Quarter! 🐰
Here, you can pick up a trail map and sticker book, pose in our selfie station, buy trail merchandise including plush toys, bunny ear headbands and key rings and take part in craft activities. You can also find out how you could to win your own Peter Rabbit sculpture to keep forever!
You’ll find us from 11am – 3pm at the Community Quarter on Upper Grey’s Quarter (first Floor) in Eldon Square, opposite Chatime. Please do hop by! 👋

They all hopped into Newcastle to see #TalesOnTheTyne in action and learn more from the team to support them with planning their own trails coming up. We took them on a tour of our city centre and Quayside sculptures in the sunshine and tomorrow, we will join them for a workshop to hop into all things art trail! 🎨🧑🎨

The team, which includes Conlan`s parents and his brothers, plus his carer Nick and Nick`s wife Judy, will race to see all of the @officialpeterrabbit sculptures in one day using Conlan`s favourite modes of transport – bus, metro and Conlan`s disability bike. 🚌🚆 🚲
Lee Smith, Conlan`s dad, said, "Conlan was our eldest son and he loved the previous art trails, making some great memories collecting the sculptures. This feels like a fitting tribute to him."
The group are fundraising for @stoswaldsuk, having already exceeded £1300. 💙
Good luck and we can`t wait to hear how it goes! 🙌
