Hip, hip, hooray, Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne is here! We’re hopping with excitement that you’re joining the adventure.
The streets, parks and public spaces of Newcastle and North Tyneside have been transformed into an outdoor gallery from, now until Monday 14th September. Keep your eyes peeled as you explore – you never know where a Peter Rabbit might be hiding!
Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne is brought to you by St Oswald’s Hospice and is raising vital funds to support local children and adults. Working in partnership with Wild in Art, The World of Peter Rabbit™ and Headline Partners Newcastle City Council, this free, family-friendly art adventure is ready for you to discover.
Newcastle and North Tyneside have been sprinkled with creativity thanks to the arrival of 96 super-sized Peter Rabbit sculptures, each one inspired by the much-loved character created by Beatrix Potter. Following the success of previous trails including Great North Snowdogs, Elmer’s Great North Parade and Shaun on the Tyne, this year’s trail is extra special as it celebrates 40 years of St Oswald’s Hospice and 160 years since the birth of Beatrix Potter.
Each large sculpture has been uniquely designed by talented artists from the region and beyond. You’ll also discover adorable ‘Little Peter Rabbit™’ sculptures, lovingly created by local schools and community groups – can you find them all?
Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne is the perfect summer holiday activity, free for all and packed full of outdoor adventure. And by getting involved, you’ll be showing your support to the patients and families who rely on the care of St Oswald’s Hospice.

Simply choose your preferred date and timeslot and join us to say goodbye to your favourite Peter Rabbit™ inspired sculpture. All 43 large and 53 little creations will come together in one place, one last time, before many are sold at auction to raise funds for @stoswaldsuk 💙
The event is suitable for all the family. Under 3’s go free and a quiet hour and family tickets are also available. As well as saying farewell to the fluffle, there will be lots of things to enjoy, and you being there will ensure we can give our beautiful bunnies the send-off the deserve..

Our children and young adults have been hopping, smiling and exploring their way around Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne! 🐰💙
They’ve been out and about across Newcastle and North Tyneside, discovering colourful sculptures and taking some brilliant photos along the way.
Lauren, our Sensory Support Practitioner, said:
“Our children and young adults have loved getting out and about and taking part in the trail. We’re looking forward to more trips over the summer to see how many other sculptures we can find!”
It’s lovely to see our children and young adults enjoying the trail, especially as it’s raising vital funds to help us support more families across the region.
