Emma Winterschladen is an illustrator, writer and mixed-media artist living in Hexham, Northumberland. Her work blends storytelling, collage and illustration to explore themes of care, creativity, hope, home, love and loss.

Once Upon a Tyne transforms Peter Rabbit into an illustrated map of stories, following the River Tyne as it winds through the city and out to the sea. Along the way, local landmarks and cultural spaces become home to playful encounters with familiar characters from fairy tales, nursery rhymes and children’s literature.
