Arty Joe has worked as a professional landscape artist in Whitley Bay for 8 years. He takes his inspiration from the ever-changing skies and light at the coast and the huge variety of stunning architecture in the North East, steeped in memories and history. He likes to create more illustrative works which capture a feeling or an idea. He has held multiple solo exhibitions and his work is held in private collections worldwide.

This design depicts a historic Durham Miners Gala, now in its 140th year. Showing the Colliery bands in procession over the Old Elvet Bridge and a floodlit Durham Cathedral, creating the perfect back drop to showcase the progress and evolution of the wider North East over the years.
