Wednesday 15th July saw the very exciting launch of Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne in Newcastle and North Tyneside.

Guests gathered at Newcastle Civic Centre for the official opening event, where the final sculpture, Golden, was unveiled. The piece was designed by young people from The Bostey Community Youth Centre in Walker in collaboration with artist Tommy Anderson, who brought their ideas to life.

The launch event featured speeches from key trail sponsors, including Newcastle City Council, Northumbrian Water and NorthStandard. Charlie Langhorne, Director and Co-founder of Wild in Art, the trail’s creative producers, then joined pupils from St Aidan’s Catholic Primary School in Wallsend and The Bostey to officially declare the trail open.

Until Monday 14 September, 96 big and little Peter Rabbit™ sculptures will be located across Newcastle and North Tyneside for nine weeks.

We have a dedicated trail app, which is now live and includes all of the sculptures which when ‘unlocked’ by entering the 4 digit code displayed near to them, will reveal offers and rewards. Just search ‘Tales on the Tyne’ in the App Store or Google Play to download.
