In Summer 2026, Newcastle and North Tyneside will host a large-scale art trail of sculptures based on the much-loved character created by Beatrix Potter. Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne offers you an unique opportunity to have your art showcased to a wide audience as part of this mass participation event.
St Oswald’s Hospice is working in partnership with Wild in Art and The World of Peter Rabbit to bring colour, conversation and creativity to the region’s streets, parks and public buildings and we are now seeking artists, designers and illustrators to create engaging designs that will transform our ‘fluffle’ of Peter Rabbits from blank canvasses to pieces of art that will inspire and delight.
Thank you to all our talented trail artists who helped bring our 43 super-sized sculptures, inspired by Beatrix Potter’s famous creation, Peter Rabbit™.
We had hundreds of brilliant design submissions shared with us, making choosing the final selection very difficult. We think the finished results are spectacular and are n awe od the skill and creativity of those who spent spring bringing our fluffle to life.
Many of the artists livre and work in the north east and it just shows how much talent we have in our region.
Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne Grand Finale Auction
The finale event of Tales on the Tyne will see the sculptures under the spotlight one last time, finding their forever homes at auction.
Almost all of the large sculptures will go under the hammer in a bidding spectacular, with funds raised supporting the work of St Oswald’s Hospice. There will also be a live online auction running in sync with the ‘in the room’ bids, which is guaranteed to build the excitement and healthy competition to snap up one of these unique pieces of art.

It’s almost @great_run weekend, and our fluffle of @officialpeterrabbit sculptures would like to wish the very best of luck to everyone taking part in the Mini & Junior Great North Run on Saturday and the Great North Run on Sunday. 🏃
A special shout-out goes to the 350 adults and children running for @stoswaldsuk. Your hop-tastic support means so much to us. If you spot one of our runners over the weekend, please give them a huge cheer! 💙

If not, we wanted to let you know that as the trail comes to a close on Monday, this Saturday 12th September will be the last day that Trail HQ at @thespacebystoswaldshospice in Ouseburn will be open.
If you`d like to pop in to visit our little fluffle of @officialpeterrabbit sculptures, browse the merchandise, pick up a sticker book, or collect your Trail Finisher Certificate, make sure you visit before 3pm on Saturday.
After that:
💻 Trail merchandise will be available to purchase online.
🏅 Trail Finisher Certificates can be downloaded from the trail website.
🎉 You`ll also be able to buy merchandise and collect certificates in person at our Farewell Weekend at Newcastle Civic Centre on Saturday 10th October and Sunday 11th October.

Can you believe our fabulous fluffle has been entertaining Newcastle and North Tyneside all summer long? But now it`s almost time for them to hop back to their burrows as they prepare for their grand finale events.
But here is the good news! There are still seven spectacular days left to find your favourite rabbits and make the most of the trail. And every time you use the app, you`re contributing to the amazing stats you`ll see in this #TopOfTheHops!

We`ve loved seeing the different ways people have enjoyed the Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne trail, and Sophie and Oli`s story certainly made us hoppy. 🐰📖
Nine-year-old Sophie and family friend Oli created a personalised book to document their trail experience, filling it with photos, maps and memories from the sculptures they discovered along the way.
A huge thank you to Sophie and Oli for sharing it with us. We loved seeing all the thought and creativity that went into the book. 🐰
