Matt Sewell is an artist and author working across drawing, painting, and publishing. His work is rooted in close observation of the everyday natural world, particularly birds, rendered with an economical language of line, shape, and colour.
The artist was inspired by Beatrix Potter’s books and her illustrations of British country life. In particular he loved how she captured the story’s side characters in her paintings, especially the robin.
Peter Rabbit™: Tales on the Tyne Grand Finale Auction
The finale event of Tales on the Tyne will see the sculptures under the spotlight one last time, finding their forever homes at auction.
Almost all of the large sculptures will go under the hammer in a bidding spectacular, with funds raised supporting the work of St Oswald’s Hospice. There will also be a live online auction running in sync with the ‘in the room’ bids, which is guaranteed to build the excitement and healthy competition to snap up one of these unique pieces of art.
