The Stories Our Objects Tell – (young adults – in person): A Poetry Workshop on Memory and Remembrance

Do you have a special object that reminds you of someone you have loved and lost? Join us for a creative writing workshop at the Cathedral this September, where you will have the opportunity to create your own original poem based on this person and your sentimental object.

No previous poetry or writing experience is needed. Through a series of relaxed, supportive activities, we’ll help you explore your creativity in a welcoming environment. Please bring along your chosen object, or a photograph of it if you prefer.

The session will be led by author Bridget Hamilton, whose debut YA novel We Wait for the Stars was published in July this year. Laura Barrett, Community Bereavement Projects Lead at St Oswald’s Hospice, will also be in attendance to offer support to anyone who may need it.

These events are organised by Newcastle Cathedral, inspired by the Meadow of Memories bench they have on display, as part of the art trail. Please direct any queries about these events to the Cathedral.
